Texas mom Cindie Allen-Stewart shared a solution to a problem most of you are probably suffering from after the 4th of July and the post went viral.
Allen-Stewart suggested applying a thick layer of menthol shaving cream to an area of skin affected that’s been by sunburn.
She explained that you “may feel like you are itchy” as the shaving cream starts “bringing the heat out,” but the itchiness is good because “itching means healing.” After letting it sit for about 30 minutes, when the skin starts to feel cold and dry, you can rinse it off with lukewarm water. If you continue to experience discomfort, she said to do it again the following day.
“Usually after that second treatment, the sunburn disappears.”

Cindie said she learned the trick from her mother-in-law who started doing it 40-years-ago after a doctor suggested it as an easy way to treat minor sunburn.
