OP Veteran is a local nonprofit with a mission to encourage and motivate Veterans by creating a fundraising and volunteer support system that empowers the Veteran nonprofit community. Throughout the year, OP Veteran hosts fundraising benefits for different Veteran nonprofits and once a year they throw down VET FEST. The 3rd Annual VET FEST is Nov 17th at Old Settlers Park. Enjoy a day of food, drink, raffle, engagement, and support, all to help bring the Veteran community in Austin together.

Rooster and Shannon Book, from OP Veteran, stopped by Local Insights to invite you out to the 3rd Annual VET FEST. If you are a business that would like to help support this great event, contact OP Veteran today! Shannon Book is also an amazing musician who will be performing at Vet Fest and he premiered his song, 'Not Alone', that he wrote about overcoming thoughts of suicide.  You can purchase 'Not Alone' right HERE and Shannon says he's donating 80% of the profits to the National Suicide Hotline and Veteran nonprofits. Spread the word about the 3rd Annual VET FEST and make plans to be at Old Settlers Park on Nov 17th.

Here's a video explaining what 'Watching Over Our Own' means to Rooster and Veterans, and why Vet Fest is so important to the Veteran community. (caution - strong language)
