Wilson Marks – “Mother’s Day” The lyrics of this song really grabbed me. Here’s what Wilson says about it: Partly autobiographical- I did spend a mother’s day ineffectually delivering flowers in PDX in a rusty old van. My mom did have an AVM aneurysm when I was in high school. It changed things in big ways. She had to relearn many things (for a while couldn’t access nouns)- She learned to play harp – did so for folks in hospice. Brains are weird. Time is a trip. Change is the constant. There’s often flowers near the fertilizer, just not always in the shape you imagine.
The Bright Light Social Hour – “Most High” Their new album Emergency Leisure doesn’t come out until August, but they released this new single, and are having a listening party today (5/17) at the Desert Door Distillery in Driftwood.
Thanks for listening!
