B-DOE’s Top Ten Halloween Songs
Hosting a Halloween party this weekend? Here’s a sweet playlist to get down with for you and your ghoulish gang. You could rank a lot of these wherever you want, but #1 is definitely #1! Are some of them cheesy, or too literal? Maybe. But who cares?!? In my opinion, they all slap. If you were wondering… the featured photo is ME as Johnny from Schitt’s Creek Halloween circa 2020.
#10 ACϟDC – Highway to Hell
Great way to get the party started. You can use it as a metaphor for the debauchery that will ensue from drinking your witches brew punch, or dedicate it to any Austin roadway. Also, did you know ACϟDC has an alphabet book? It’s true. Check it our HERE.
#9 Creedence Clearwater Revival – Bad Moon Rising
This band has a special place in my rocknroll heart. I can remember my Dad handing me some dimes when I was a kid and saying, “go throw some CCR on the jukebox.” Get crunk with that trashcan punch and show everyone at the party YOUR bad moon rising.
#8 David Bowie – We Are the Dead
Can you really have a playlist without one Bowie song? I don’t think so. It’s pop creepy. It’s theatrical. It’s freakin Bowie! Don’t ask questions, just enjoy.
#7 Rob Zombie – Living Dead Girl
Of course Rob Zombie needs to make an appearance. So many tunes to choose from. I chose this one. Also, Rob Zombie costume easy and fun to make and wear.
#6 Bobby Pickett – Monster Mash
This is a dang ol Halloween classic! Plus, in this video you get a young Dick Clark and Bobby Pickett lip-synching with outrageous facial expressions! How has this song not taken off with a TikTok dance???
#5 The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Sweet Transvestite
Here’s a fun one sure to turn your party out. If you’ve never been to a midnight screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, are you really living life? Sing along, sing loud, and sing like no one’s watching.
#4 The Rolling Stones – Sympathy For The Devil
Throw on some Stones! You know every Halloween party has someone dressed up as the Devil. Let’s hope it’s a sexxxy Devil.
#3 Metallica: Am I Evil?
If you have to ask yourself if you’re evil… you probably are. BUT IT’S TALLICA! Crank this to 11 and rock some ballz with this all-star cast.
#2 Ozzy Osbourne – Bark at the Moon
Can you celebrate All Hallows’ Eve with the Prince of Darkness? Think not. Here’s some Ozzy for ya. Did you know he launched his own makeup line? Check it out HERE.
#1 Michael Jackson – Thriller
DUH! What else could be #1?!? This song has it all. Narration by Vincent Price, a fully choreographed zombie flash mob, Michael Jackson when he still was kinda Michael Jackson, THIS SONG SLAPS! What’d I miss? What’s your favorite Halloween song to bop to? Hit me up on my socials and let me know! Happy Halloweenie, Rowdy Rockers!
