The Austin band Seventh Legend were on the show to talk about their epic new album of symphonic metal called After Death.

We played “Sands of Pharoah,” “Falling From Grace,” and “Shadows of Death.”

Jackie Venson – “All Rise” (Evolution of Joy) She’ll play this Thursday 5/18 at the Scoot Inn for the inaugural “Amplify Live” concert, supporting I Live Here, I Give Here

Glass Mansions – “Nearsighted” Their new single drops Friday, and they have two free shows this week: Wednesday 5/17 at a BMI showcase at Still Austin and Thursday 5/18 at Meanwhile Brewing

Bull y Los Bufalos – “Dinero Primero” (Fury EP) His latest video has over 300,000 views

Z Trippin – “Wasted” psst…he’s Willie’s great grandson!

Brian Beken – “The Weekend” From his debut solo album New Geography which will be released this Friday 5/19. Brian has been a member of The South Austin Jug Band, MilkDrive, and Bruce Robison and Robert Earl Keen’s bands.

Jo James – “Down To The River” happy to premiere Jo’s new song on Local Licks. It’ll be out Friday 5/19.

Wilson Marks – “Mother’s Day” The lyrics of this song really grabbed me. Here’s what Wilson says about it: Partly autobiographical- I did spend a mother’s day ineffectually delivering flowers in PDX in a rusty old van. My mom did have an AVM aneurysm when I was in high school. It changed things in big ways. She had to relearn many things (for a while couldn’t access nouns)- She learned to play harp – did so for folks in hospice. Brains are weird. Time is a trip. Change is the constant. There’s often flowers near the fertilizer, just not always in the shape you imagine.

The Bright Light Social Hour – “Most High” Their new album Emergency Leisure doesn’t come out until August, but they released this new single, and are having a listening party today (5/17) at the Desert Door Distillery in Driftwood.

Thanks for listening!
