In less than 100 days, 2020 has been … eventful – to say the least. Concerns about the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) are affecting nearly everyone and, unfortunately, our favorite rock stars are no exception. Just when you scraped enough coins to see your favorite artist one last time, cancellations and postponed shows are popping up left and right. If all you have left is your imagination, here are the top ten bands you CAN’T see (or might have to wait to see) live and in the flesh.
1. Kiss
Kiss cancelled all VIP packages which include meet-and-greets, due to precautionary measures against COVID-19 on Monday, March 9. By today, Thursday, the final show remaining in a U.S. leg of their End of the Road farewell tour have been postponed all the way to October.
2. The Who
Unfortunately, you will not see The Who this month if you were planning on going to any of their shows in the U.K or Ireland. Once again, due to COVID-19 concerns, the legendary band did not want to risk anyone’s health or safety.
3. Slipknot
Slipknot, formerly scheduled to play throughout Asia, has cancelled all dates until further notice. They stressed the health and safety of their fans as the cause of their decision.
4. Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam postponed their U.S tour due to the spread and outbreak of the virus. In a series of tweets they said, “It’s been brutal and it’s gonna get worse before it gets better.”
4. Guns N’ Roses
The Guns N’ Roses concert at San Jose, Costa Rica, has been canceled by the National Emergency Commission. Costa Rican president declared all massive events and activities were suspended due to concerns of the spread of the virus.

6. Queen + Adam Lambert
The French government suspended all events with a capacity larger than 5,000 people in indoor venues until May 31. Unfortunately, the Queen + Adam Lambert show at Paris’ AccorHotels Arena was affected, with the original date only 5 days before on May 26.

7. Yes
Yes cancelled all spring tour dates due to Coronavirus concerns. Although future plans are uncertain, one can hope for rescheduled dates.

8. Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s farewell tour is on a hiatus due to cautionary measures. New dates are still updating as they join the league of artists scrambling for new dates.
9. Billy Joel
Billy Joel postponed two of his Madison Square Garden concerts to September and October. With NYC in a state of emergency, the whole city is facing new regulations.
10. Green Day
The Rock Hall inductees, Green Day decided to cancel the Asian leg of their Hella Mega tour, due to health and travel concerns related to coronavirus. Cities originally scheduled have confirmed cases of the virus including: Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.
Despite all the concerns, recommendations, and precautionary measures, some rock stars are staying on brand and refusing to shut down shows. Wattie Buchan from Scottish rock band, The Exploited, said, “”Fuck coronavirus! I have had 5 heart attacks, a quad heart bypass and a heart pacemaker fitted. Cancel gigs for a virus? We ain’t fucking Green Day piss – We are the real deal.”
