June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. What should that mean to you? Did you know currently almost 6 MILLION Americans are living with Alzheimer’s? That number is projected to hit 14 MILLION by the year 2050. The Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter provides “support for diagnosed individuals, their families and caregivers, and the professionals who care for them.” Dealing with an Alzheimer’s diagnoses takes a toll not only on the individual diagnosed, but also their family and friends. The Alzheimer’s Association offers “support groups, educational programs, individualized planning provided by licensed professionals, and community resource lists” essential for those going through an Alzheimer’s diagnoses.
