Have you heard of Emancipet? They are a nonprofit whose mission is to "make high-quality spay/neuter and veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners". How awesome is that?!? They don't only help pets locally, they also have clinics in Houston and Philadelphia and are currently working in Puerto Rico to provide veterinary care to more than 300,000 pets that were left homeless after Hurricane Maria. HomeAway has stepped up to support Emancipet by donating $100 (up to $10K!) to the nonprofit when you book a pet-friendly vacation rental home using this link, hmwy.co/pet-travel, now through Dec. 31st. All money raised benefits Emancipet and goes towards helping pets in need here in Austin and beyond!

Liz Parker and Murphy, from Emancipet, stopped by Local Insights to share the goals of the nonprofit, share some travel tips if you're traveling with your pet, and encourage you to use HomeAway to help benefit Emancipet. Spread the word to all your fellow pet lovers, and visit one of Emancipet’s three Austin area clinics to get your pet high-quality, low-cost veterinary care!
