Twenty Five Fabulous Memories of Our 2018
Can you believe it? The end of the year is nearly here. 2018 was filled with fun for all of us at KLBJ. So much in fact, that we decided to make another dumb list counting down our accomplishments.
What a year it was for bees! Every time CJ Morgan tried to make a viral video he ended up being stung.
Speaking of bees, CJ Morgan turned a negative into a positive and enlisted the help of bees and other items to prank more people around the office.
23) Incredible KLBJ Rock Girls
This year boasted some of our best Rock Girls ever. Notably, our Miss KLBJ Rock Girl of 2018 Tori.

22) Parks Report
Every week, your KLBJ Parks Reporter takes you inside a hot spot to get some green and sun your buns. Unfortunately, someone from the city apparently gave Rusty a cease and desist.
21) Our New Friend Pat the Curler
This year introduced us to a new show friend: Pat from the Lone Star Curling Club. After being on the show we went out and tried curling at Chaparral Ice and then had her back in the studio for Speed Dating.

20) The Gang VS Callers
Callers dial in to defend Daniel as we debate the meaning of marijuana.
Some dude is mad he didn't win tickets
Lets just get this out of the way. CJ made some more videos, look at them or he will get his feelings hurt.
T-19) D&B+M Daily Minute
Speaking of Stupid CJ Videos, this episode of the D&B+M Daily Minute took you behind the scenes of the show to meet our new Associate Producer, Chuy.
On this episode, we interviewed fans of the show beofre a live #Sideshow podcast.
We’ve stooped to this: watching and talking about the Bachelorette (just like your favorite crap radio shows). Unlike our competition though, we heavily judged and even ‘drafted’ our own team of bachelors. Who won? We don’t remember as we gave up a month into it.
17) "Pumpkin Pie Can Go Eff Itself" and the Year of Danielisms
Daniel Explains why whipped cream is for rich people and why he hates pumpkin pie.
There were so many Danielisms that Bob started keeping a diary of them.
The gang found a new game and loved playing it on-air.
So far no one has found love with our Speed Dating Series (well, mainly Chuy). Perhaps that would change when our friends at OnSpeedDating returned to set up former intern Mariah on a date with the man OR woman of her choice.

14) Weekly Chu & A
Do you ever have questions about the show? Every Week Chuy does a Facebook Live Q&A to address all your concerns.
What do you do when your sales team fails you time and time again? Go in to business for yourself! This year CJ Morgan launched his own advertising services incorporated. Basically, a business would give him $100 and he would wear their logo on his shirt.

12) Franklin's Fowatza Food Challenge
Aaron Franklin from Franklin's BBQ and James Moody from the Mohawk came in to discuss Hot Luck Fest and judge our culinary creations.
Earlier in the year, we discovered Daniel would only allow his guests to have tap water while he kept the Fiji bottles for himself. This lead to a series of discussions (Watergate) which concluded in a blind taste test.
Daniel ended up choosing gas station water as his favorite and also managed to spill some all over the board.
10) KLBJ Rockin Blood Drive T-Shirt Contest
They are the only item of value on the KLBJ Card Table of Wonder: T-Shirts. This year we let you take the reigns and design our latest shirt. Everyone who donated to We Are Blood during the Rockin' Blood Drive received one of these limited edition T's for free!
9) The Contest of Contests
For three weeks, the cast of the DBM Show competed with each other in a contest of contests. The prizes for the listeners were expensive, the stakes were high, and in the end it was Chuy who took home the gold (a massage) for his flight simulator bit.
2018 was another year of great guests. We had comics, weirdos, politicians, musicians, people of the neighborhood, and actors galore (Joey Diaz, Big Jay Oakerson, Beto O'Rourke, Ben Kweller, Leanne Morgan, Rachel Feinstein, Ari Shaffir, John Waite, Brian Posehn, Jon Dore, Shane Torres, Julie Oliver, Beth Stelling, Ron Bennington, Mo Amer, Ian Moore, Kelly Jones, Dov Davidoff, The Sklar Brothers to name a few).
In addition to the on-air chat and live Facebook videos, we started talking to our guests about their experience being on the show, After the Show.
7) Breaking & Entering
Our live Breaking & Entering Broadcast raised over $6,000 for Central Texas families in need. On top of that, we chose a record seven families to help this year!
6) The Great Flat Earth Debate
Show friend, game developer, and writer Richard Garriott came on to the show to debate previous guest Flat Earth Andrew. What makes Garriott so special? He’s actually been to outer space.
5) KLBJ Continues to Rock!
This year we brought you live music during our broadcast from SXSW, we partied backstage at ACL Fest, and our 45th Anniversary Show with Slash featuring Eric Tessmer was off the hook! On top of that, we participated in many live shows, and continued to be a force in the music scene with our specialty shows such as the Rock 30, NO CONTROL and Local Licks Live.
Rowdy Rockers at the KLBJ 45th Anniversary Concert
It was a fantastic kick-off to the Moontower Comedy Festival with a live #Sideshow at Cap City Comedy Club featuring Ron Bennington and Ron White.
The evening began with drinks, D&B Nachos, and five minutes of dick jokes from CJ Morgan before he fired off the kookie cannon and brought the gang on stage.
Bob, Dale, and Matt started the show and then brought up Ron Bennington. Soon after surprise guest Ron White joined the group to talk private texts, hookers, and WHITE power (a bit made for Ron White similar to the Bennington barometer).
White continued to wow the audience by closing the show with almost 30 minutes of stand-up.
Live Sideshow 2018 Pictures
Not only did Amanda Dudley break the Internet, but she nearly broke up the show! For most of 2018, Amanda prepared to compete in Make a Vet Sweat. Along the way, tensions began to mount as Dale believed this entire promotion was a set up by Deb to sabotage his marriage and the show.
In the end, however, things worked out fine. The show and Dale’s marriage survived. Amanda placed fourth while raising a lot of money for a good cause (and she looked incredible doing it).
Amandas Fitness Contest
After being invited to rock on stage with the Foo Fighters, we took KISS Guy aka Yayo Sanchez around town to demonstrate his guitar prowess. The YouTube video we posted garnered over 100k views in one week!
Koozie Cannon, Dale leaves the AM, Dale & Bob on The Bennington Show, Dan's Yoko remixes, all the amazing interviews/work/volunteering B-DOE does for our community and only gets this line for it, Call of Duty, whatever “yolk penis” means, Redneck Destroys Nikes, bearioke, more of CJ's dumb videos, our awesome sound effects, week of 1,000 guests,
What an anticlimactic way to end a year-end list! But really, compared to the last few years, nothing happened. No one left the station, there were no significant fights or controversies, no guests going viral and no dead dogs. So here we are... at number one... with nothing major to report. Congrats?
