Was a weird and wild week at work, getting ready for the three day weekend, first UT game of the season and so much more, but zoom in, and our Texas Trios for the week cross all the bounds this week, from Blues legends, to new smooth R&B players and more! – Chuck
8/31/26 – Monday
Not sure what I was thinking, other than relationships. There are so many types, these three songs I think represent different types of relationships, pure joy every time you see her, love on the spectrum for all those involved, and well, what comes across to me as that drunk love.
Arc Angels – Sent By Angels
Tripping Daisy – I Got a Girl
Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears – Bitch, I Love You
9/1/26 – Tuesday
Zoe hit me up with a request for this song from Khruangbin, and I leaned into the smooth R&Bness of it with my other Texas artists.
Khruangbin – Time (You and I)
Sly Stone – Family Affair
Black Pumas – Politicians in My Eyes
9/2/26 – Wednesday
I tried to make up for an evening of R&B Tuesday by repping some straight up c-ck rock from the 80s Texas metal scene.
Dangerous Toys – Teasin’ N Pleasin’
Pariah – Shatter Me
Pantera – Power Metal
9/3/26 – Thursday
We celebrate the birthday of the one, the only Freddie King!
Freddie King – I’m Tore Down
Freddie King – Goin Down
Freddie King – Big Legged Woman
9/4/26 – Friday
It’s Labor Day weekend, let’s party!
ZZ Top – Party on the Patio
