Harvey Can't Mess with Texas: 9/22 Benefit Concert with Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, and Many More
Harvey Can’t Mess With Texas: A Benefit Concert for Hurricane Harvey Relief is taking place on Friday, September 22 at the Frank Erwin Center from 7pm-11pm, and will be broadcast on 11 TEGNA stations and streamed internationally on YouTube.com/Texas Strong from 9-10 p.m. CT.
This will be the largest live concert benefit in Texas and will feature four hours of exclusive performances and collaborations from a long list of music legends including Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Leon Bridges, Lyle Lovett, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, Ryan Bingham, Ha*Ash, and additional special guests. The performances will be led by Musical Director Charlie Sexton, and backed by house band, Asleep at the Wheel.
Many Texas-native celebrities and politicians will also make special appearances, with Matthew McConaughey, Dan Rather, Renée Zellweger, Luke Wilson, Austin Mayor Steve Adler, Houston Chief of Police Art Acevedo, and more stopping by to help raise awareness and support for those affected by the storm.
Tickets go on sale today at 3:00pm CT at www.RebuildTX.org. Prices range between $30-$199 and will benefit the Rebuild Texas Fund created by the Michael & Susan Dell, and OneStar Foundations.
