THIS WEEKEND:

Hello, Little Steven here with a pop quiz. Who are the two coolest guys of all time?

No…No…Close…Closer…

Yes, Frank Sinatra and John Cassavetes, and we are celebrating both of them this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Joining us will be the Beatles, the Pretty Things, the Shangri-La’s, and the Mothers of Invention.

We’re playing some cool new stuff from Locksley, the Hives, Len Price 3, the Chesterfield Kings, the Stabilisers, Sisely & the Saftey Pin-Ups, Mick Jagger, and Mink Jaguar.

Find out what Gary U.S. Bonds, Brian Wilson, and Anne Bancroft have in common.

It’s Sinatra and Cassavetes this weekend in the Underground Garage.

Little Steven’s Underground Garage is the weekly two-hour radio program hosted by Steve Van Zandt, long time member of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. The Underground Garage pays tribute to good old Rock and Roll, now called Garage Rock. In Steven’s not so humble opinion, classic traditional Garage Rock is not getting the airplay it deserves even though it is the foundation of every classic rock station in the country.

Each week Steven takes all of these bands, all of this music (five decades worth) and shakes it up like he was making a martini for James Bond (shaken not stirred). The outcome is a cool, creative, and entertaining rock and roll broadcast that begs the listener to come along for the ride. And Steven doesn’t just play the songs. He is a very creative writer and in his own unique style and from his own personal experience, he shares stories with the audience about these bands and these songs from a perspective that no other host can offer. He lived it and is still living it today. In between the songs you’ll hear either ID’s from a group of diverse individuals and fans of the show like actor Sean Penn, baseball legend Yogi Berra, Ringo Starr of The Beatles, author Anne Rice, NY Governor George Pataki, Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, and Paul Shaffer of the David Letterman show, just to name a few, OR unique and humorous old film and TV clips that tie into the theme of that week’s show or set of music.

Little Steven’s Underground Garage is a fun, entertaining, unique two hours of rock radio!
