Pleasurefest tonight!

Posted 2/12/2010 1:25:00 PM
Make sure you come out tonight to Ace's Lounge to enjoy some good naughty fun and a great show! I'm really looking forward to the Burlesque dancers.  They're always very talented and interesting to watch perform.  I will be a part of the fashion show near the middle of the evening sponsored by Costume World.  I'm not going to give away the surprise of what costumes I will be wearing so you will just have to come down tonight and find out!  Come early because it has been packed before and we've had a great turnout.  Doors open @ 8 and the cover charge is only $10 if you're not already on the guestlist. See you tonight.

I'm still here!

Hey there!  Sorry it's been a while since I've updated all of my loyal Rock Girl fans on my goings-on.  There haven't been many events for me to attend throughout the winter so I haven't been around much.  That will definitely change in the new year.  2010 is already looking promising.  My duties as the KLBJ Rock Girl will last all the way until May, when I was crowned last year.  Even if I don't post a bunch of new blogs, you can always stay connected through my facebook fanpage and via twitter.  I post pictures and update my status on there pretty regularly so if you're not a fan yet, just follow this link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/KLBJ-Rock-Girl/206393260614?ref=ts

I will be at Mother's Window Tint tomorrow from 12-2 so if you're driving by and see us, be sure to stop by and say hello.  There just might be a prize in it for ...

My eyeballs are paid for!

One of the bills I was able to get paid off from my Rock Girl winnings was the loan that I took out for my Lasik procedure.  This month, I made the last payment!  Getting Lasik was one of the best decisions I made but it was a big chunk of money.  I am so grateful I was picked by the judges to serve in this position because I not only get to hang out at all the fun events but the checks I receive are really helping me out. So I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to KLBJ for choosing me over the other contestants because I realize that I'm just about rounding the halfway point of my reign.  I will be sad when it's over :( but all the people I have been able to meet and interact have had a big impact ...

My civic duty

Posted 10/31/2009 4:04:00 PM
For the first time, I have officially served on a jury.  Not only did I have to go to jury duty and sit through the selection process, I was actually picked to sit through the trial!  It was actually a very interesting process.  I know we all dread getting that summons and we rack our brain trying to think of someway to get out of it.  Then again there's some of us who look forward to missing work.  Did you know that you get paid for jury duty? It's $6 for going through the selection process and then $10 for the first day of the trial.  If the trial goes more than a day, you get $40 for each additional day.  I had no idea that they paid you.  I figured it was your duty to do it so it was pretty cool to get a little cash for my ...

My new addition

Check out the birthday present I bought for myself.  I mustered up the courage to go and get my nose pierced!  I absolutely love it!  It's a week old and it looks and feels great.  I went to Diablo Rojo on South Lamar and Gill made me perfectly comfortable.  It didn't hurt a bit.

Birthday Drinks!

Posted 9/28/2009 4:49:00 PM
Hey everyone!  Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm celebrating TONIGHT by watching some football and drinking at my fav South Austin Sports Bar, Backspin!  The only reason I'm not celebrating by banging my head at the Metallica concert is because I didn't buy any tickets, in hopes that the awesome promotions department at KLBJ could snag me a pair like the lucky listeners who won them all this week.  Unfortunately there were no extras and this very unlucky Rock Girl doesn't get to go party my butt off in San Antonio watching Metallica, the day before my birthday.  So, instead, I'm going to go drink with my friends at the locally owned Backspin Bar & Grill around 8 pm and any loyal blog readers are welcome to join me.

Football!!

Posted 9/13/2009 10:29:00 PM
Now that football season is back in session I plan to watch alot of it.  I don't have a particular team that I root for since I grew up in SA and they don't have an NFL team.  I'l always root for TX teams like the Cowboys and the Texans and of course, the UT Longhorns where I graduated from.  I also remember watching the Houston Oilers when they were around.  I'm very loyal to the UT alums and will root for the teams where those TX players were drafted to.  I will be attending all the UT viewing parties hosted by the station and the Game of the Week parties at Sugar's and Perfect Ten.  So come see me!  I haven't met nearly enough of you listeners yet!  Check out my pictures of me and Bob and me and Nigel and my past remotes.

Staind was amazing!

This first time that I saw Staind in concert was pretty amazing!  They performed last Friday at the Austin Music Hall with Chevelle, Halestorm and Lo-Pro.  I went with a friend of mine and we stood near the center, leaning up against a nice railing so we got a great view of the stage.  Each act was great and we rocked our faces off, but the best part of the show, which was very unexpected was when Aaron Lewis came up right to where we were standing and played an acoustic set of "Outside" and "It's Been a While."  He was so close that I could have reached out and touched him.  When he was done playing, I shook his hand and he gave me the guitaer pic that he played that set with!! :)  I was so excited to be part of the action.  Check out the rest of ...
