Guitar legend Slash has filed for divorce from his wife of almost nine years.

According to Los Angeles County Superior Court documents, obtained by TMZ.com, the rocker, real name Saul Hudson, and wife Perla Ferrar, separated in mid-July.

The former Guns N' Roses star cites irreconcilable differences for the split.

Slash and Ferrar wed on 15 October, 2001 and share two sons, aged six and eight.

Court documents indicate the rocker is asking for joint physical and legal custody and is willing to pay spousal support. There is no prenuptial agreement.

Slash was previously married to actress Renee Suran. They ended their five-year union in 1997.

RONNIE JAMES DIO: Authorized Photo Book Due In The Fall

According to the Deep Purple Appreciation Society, an authorized photo book on legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio — best known for his work with BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW and his own band DIO — is tentatively due this fall. A donation from each copy sold will go to the Ronnie James Dio "Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund". There will be two editions, with more details to be revealed soon.

Dio died of stomach cancer on the morning of May 16, at the age of 67.

He was renowned throughout the world as one of the greatest and most influential vocalists in heavy metal history.

The singer, who was recording and touring with SABBATH offshoot HEAVEN & HELL prior to his illness, was diagnosed with stomach cancer late last year. He underwent chemotherapy and made what is now his final public appearance last month at the Revolver Golden Gods ...
