Carolyn Schwarz, Executive Director of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, returns to tell you all about HAAM Benefit Day September 24th in Austin, Texas. HAAM helps working musicians take care of their physical health, and encourages them to take the measures to prevent larger health problems by keeping up to date with preventative care. The annual HAAM Benefit Day is a unique Austin experience. Participating entities in the city of Austin donate at least 5% of the days proceeds directly to HAAM. This in turn, is invested in the lives of the musicians working in the program. Find a business on this list, visit them on Sept. 24 for HAAM Benefit Day, and become a HAAMbassador!

The Sims Foundation also helps local musicians, but with their mental health. Hear how from tragedy the Sims Foundation was formed with the help of the local music community. Heather Alden, the Sims Foundation Managing Director, talks about the great services the foundation provides to local musicians in need of mental health help, and how you can volunteer and donate year round to the Sims Foundation.

Both these organizations help to keep our musicians healthy, and have literally saved lives. Listen in to see how you can be a part of these awesome Austin nonprofits!

Visit HAAM, the Sims Foundation, and many other great nonprofits at this years Austin City Music Festival ACL Cares area!
