Jeff Carrol is no stranger to Austin Radio and certainly not to 93.7 KLBJ! Jeff started at KLBJ in 1982 working as afternoon drive DJ. As the station grew into its own, Jeff grew with it and took on the responsibilities of Music and Program Director. Jeff is responsible for taking the station to unprecedented heights throughout the 90’s nominated by Marconi as Station of the Year & Personality of the Year, Billboard Magazine Program Director of the Year, Music Director of the Year, Radio & Records Magazine Program Director of the Year and an unheard of six-time nomination as Station of the Year by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Wow have you ever wondered what is would be like to spend St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland? So have I and now we get a chance to learn. Jameson Irish Whiskey is flying me to Dublin to experience the fun and broadcast live from their distillery on St. Patrick’s Day. I hear there is nothing like being in Ireland on that day, sipping a Jameson on the rocks at the place where it is distilled. They have been having parties in the building for over 200 years. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland is part of a 5 day festival; over 500,000 people attend.
Here are some details on my trip: I fly out Friday morning from Austin and land Saturday morning in Dublin. I plan on spending Saturday walking around Dublin especially the Temple Bar area. (It’s their Sixth Street, Warehouse area). Sunday Jameson has some activities planned for me including a cruise on the river Liffey, a trip to the Wicklow Mountains. Monday broadcast and dinner, more parties. Tuesday and Wednesday I am renting a car, try to remember to drive on the other side of the road, and drive to Cork County to kiss the Blarney Stone.
Anyway, this St. Patty’s Day, don’t get pinched, wear some green, listen to our live broadcast 10a-3p and enjoy some Jameson Irish Whiskey.
