All ages and levels are welcome. Singers, musicians and dancers welcome! Son Huasteco is one of the main styles of the people’s music & dance of North Eastern and Central Eastern states of Mexico.

All ages and levels are welcome. Singers, musicians and dancers welcome! Songs will be taught for these instruments: Quinta huapanguera, or, quinta translated for guitar, violin, jarana huasteca and voice. Huapango dancers are also welcome and encouraged to come and dance although dance will not be taught. This workshop will begin with a brief introduction to the music & culture of Mexican Son Huasteco, and will focus on bringing all ages and ethnicities of community together to have fun playing and singing songs together with strumming patterns in the guitar or quinta huapanguera, violin melodies and singing parts.
