Matt, Bob and Chuy

Mornings with Matt and Bob | 6am - 10am

“The Comic”
Matt Bearden

Matt Bearden is Texan through and through. From is infectious laugh that could drown out a coyote’s cry, right down to his weathered Luchese boots, Matt is a “Lone Star.” Born on Texas soil, he wasn’t so quick to put down roots. Early in his career, this UT grad hit the road as a standup comic, working with some of the biggest names in the business on some of the circuit’s biggest stages. His talent did not go unnoticed by the likes of Comedy Central and MTV who have featured his wit and humor on their networks. Back in Austin, Matt hosted and headlined a popular weekly standup showcase at Cap City Comedy called “Punch!” Sixteen years ago, when family life finally stopped his boot-heals from wandering for good, Matt hitched his wagon to mornings on 93.7 KLBJ-FM. The road’s loss is Austin’s gain!

“The OG”
Bob Fonseca aka The Bobfather

Young Bob travelled the world as the oldest son of a career Air Force sergeant. This is probably how he has adapted to so many roles in his professional life post UT. From television producer, to Erwin Center publicist, to promotions manager for SWA at a nationally respected ad agency, to becoming KLBJ-FM’s first promotion’s director in 1986, Bob has always been behind or in-front of the spotlight. He was brought back to co-host mornings at 93.7 in 1992. He has since been inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. By his own admission, that was not his highest industry achievement. Recently, he weaseled his way into an episode of Food Network’s “Diner, Drive-In’s and Dives!” 30 -years down the road, The Bobfather is still entertaining, and still trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up!

“The Champ”
Chuy Eldorado aka Eric Alderete aka John the Gent

Though he has many aliases, Chuy is known by his many fans and professionals in the industry as “The Hardest Working Man in Show Business.” Since his humble beginnings in Thrall, Texas as a high school football star, to his formative years as a 93.7 Morning Show intern, to his stint as a reporter and producer on News Radio 590, Chuy has demonstrated that he has the skillset and the drive to go far in this fast-paced, cutthroat business we call “show!” Chuy now applies almost two decades of experience to the role of Producer for the top-rated Mornings with Matt and Bob Show, weekdays on 93.7 KLBJ-FM. When he is not radio-ing, Chuy works out, plays disc golf, collects sick Nikes, and even got in the ring for an amateur fight in 2022. He is undefeated as a heavyweight and as a producer! Mornings are truly “powered by Chuy!
