Help me save the Clock Tower
11/8/2013 9:39:00 AM
I am one to take up any charitable cause, especially when I feel it is for the good of my community. Decades after being struck by lightening, the old clock tower on top of the courthouse is in danger of being torn down. The preservation society is raising money to save the clock tower and I want to help. I am not asking for your donations. I am lucky and have made a lot of internet money with my hilarious YouTube videos and viral campaigns.
All I am asking is for you to Follow me on Twitter and Friend me on Facebook (if you already do, tell a friend). For every new friend and follower , I will donate one e-dollar towards saving the clock tower. I currently have 1,791 Twitter followers and 2,465 Facebook friends.
UPDATE: My bosses at 93.7 KLBJ have decided to match my contributions for this GREAT cause! For every Like we get on our Facebook Page, KLBJ937 and every follower we get on Twitter, @KLBJ937, the station will donate 1 e-dollar.
Double Update: Carissa Jaded from the Dudley & Bob Morning Show has also agreed to donate 1 e-dollar for every new follower on her Twitter: @CarissaJaded
History of the Clock Tower:
The tower was built in the late 1800's
It served as the town’s centerpiece during the boom of the 1950’s
Even when the city was going through hard times (mid 80's), the clocker tower was a beacon of light and hope.
Lightening struck the tower, rendering it useless and stopping the clock at exactly 10:04pm.
