Austin Municipal Court Warrant Amnesty
It's that time of year again for the Austin Municipal Court Warrant Amnesty period which encourages individuals with outstanding warrants to come forward to take care of them. The warrant amnesty will take place February 10th through March 3rd. If you have an outstanding warrant, you can voluntarily appear and NOT be arrested, plus warrant fees will be waived.
The goal of this yearly program is to free up resources in the legal system and give individuals an opportunity to come forward if they've been delinquent or have procrastinated dealing with warrants. Kim Chadwick, Court Operations Manager for the Austin Municipal Court, stopped by Local Insights to tell you the different ways you can come forward to pay the fine, request a payment plan, or if you qualify to do community service. Spread the word!
