Some Girls Tattoo You Black and Blue!
That's the title of a Rolling Stones Hoot coming up at the Sahara Lounge Friday night, 9/7. Eighteen local bands will be gathering to perform Stones songs, and 3 of those bands will be joining Loris on Local Licks this Tuesday night to sing Stones songs! That's this Tuesday, September 4th, at 10:30 p.m. These Mad Dogs of Glory, English Teeth, and Tameca Jones will be in the KLBJ studios to play acoustically, and if you can answer some Rolling Stones trivia, you might get on the guest list for the hoot!
Here's more deets on the show:

On the edge of Indian Summer, Bleu French Laundry gathers together an 18 band motley crew to bring you Some Girls Tattoo You Black & Blue Stones Album Hoot, Friday, September 7th, 2012 at The Sahara Lounge in Far East Austin, Texas. Bands will be sweating out tracks from The Rolling Stones’ “Some Girls”, “Tattoo You”, & “Black & Blue” albums at this juke joint in the heart of the eastside “Hogpen” neighborhood. Bringin’ the whip down: SMOKE & FEATHERS, ENGLISH TEETH, UNDER THE SUN, YOUNG GIRLS, THESE MAD DOGS OF GLORY, TAMECA JONES, THE ASTRONAUT SUIT, THE MEMPHIS STRANGE, JESSE VAIN, ALIEN KNIFE FIGHT, TOPAZ, THE BLACK TABS, THE RIPE, QUENBY & THE WEST OF WAYLAND BAND, THE HI-TONES, TUMP, TOMMY MACK WITH THE MOOKS, JOSH BUCKLEY & THE GILDED SPLINTERS, & LIGHT ME UP. This roadhouse rocknroll throwdown not only presents songs from those classic Stones’ albums, but further includes the recent bonus tunes released with the “Some Girls” 2011 Remaster all from the same sessions. Come witness an era of The Stones that debuted their new axe comrade The Faces’ Ronnie Wood, flied in the face of the punk & disco scenes, & carried real rocknroll urgency as Keith Richards’ fate was at the mercy of Canadian heroin charges. In between sets, look in The Sahara Lounge Beer Garden for the screening of old blues footage, the 1978 Rolling Stones Live in Texas Concert, & Muddy Waters & Rolling Stones gig at Buddy Guy’s Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago 1981. To give you a feel as to what will go down, here’s at least one song from each band plus set times. Anytime will rule, but this is the lowdown nitty gritty >>>>
