Laura Waits is one of the newest members added to the KLBJ family and kicks off the weekend every Saturday night at Midnight to keep the overnight rockin' until 6am.

Laura embarked on the whole new world of radio in July 2005.   "I learn something new everyday, especially when it comes to buttons on the sound board.  Sometimes I discover the function of certain buttons unintentionally and have fun with it when listeners catch it.   I now have certain listeners that will call in just to see how the learning curve is going. I love this job."  Laura expresses the humor behind her overnight shifts.  

Growing up mostly in Austin Laura has come to have a very deep, loyal love for Austin.  This love is what keeps her busy getting involved in the community.  Her favorite aspect of Austin is the hill-country since she has to be out on her motorcycle to get away from every-day life. However her true love of Austin stems from the live music scene, especially the Red River district.  You can find Laura on any given night at a show on or around Red River.  Her night usually begins at the Room 710 or the Side Bar to plan her night of music.  Her choice of shows often include Dixie Witch, Rockland Eagles, Elvis on Speed, or Teabag, although she enjoys just wondering into shows she doesn't know of the bands playing just to find new music to add to her collection.
